Migrate from Muvi to Flicknexs
Quick answer: To migrate from Muvi to Flicknexs, export your library and metadata, bulk-import them into Flicknexs (a white-label OTT platform with web, mobile and TV apps), rebuild your subscription tiers, re-publish your apps under your brand, and run both platforms in parallel until cut-over. Most catalogs complete in one to two weeks, driven more by subscriber and billing mapping than by video transfer.
Flicknexs provides a managed OTT platform with a guided migration service, so Muvi customers move their videos, users, pricing tiers and apps with the Flicknexs team doing the mapping and imports.

50+ OTT platforms powered by Flicknexs
Why teams move from Muvi
Teams that run video on demand, live and a linear channel on Muvi often hold more than one product subscription plus per-app fees. The move to Flicknexs is usually about consolidating those into one platform and one bill.
Flicknexs (a video-on-demand, live and cloud-playout platform sold on published monthly plans) is a common landing point because its plans are flat fees with no commission, you get live and linear channels from the first plan, and the same vendor runs the infrastructure, builds the apps and does the migration.
What moves, and how
Six asset classes make up a migration. Each row says how Flicknexs receives it from Muvi and what you keep.
| Asset | From Muvi | Into Flicknexs | You keep |
|---|---|---|---|
| Video library and metadata | Muvi One library and metadata via export or API | Bulk import toolkit maps titles, descriptions, categories, artwork, captions and series structure | Every title, its artwork and its taxonomy |
| Subscribers and entitlements | Subscriber export with plan and status | User import with plan mapping; passwords are reset by secure link on first login | Every account and what it is entitled to watch |
| Pricing tiers and payments | Plans and payment gateway configuration from Muvi One | SVOD, TVOD, AVOD and hybrid tiers recreated; gateways connected; renewal dates preserved | Your prices, your renewal calendar, your gateway |
| Apps and store listings | Muvi-built apps in your store accounts | White-label Android, iOS, Android TV and Fire TV apps; Samsung, LG, Roku and Apple TV as add-ons | Your developer accounts, listings and ratings history |
| Live channels and schedules | Muvi Live streams and Muvi Playout schedules | Live events, M3U8 linear channels and cloud playout schedules | Your channel line-up and program grid |
| Domains, DRM and analytics | Custom domain, DRM policy and analytics exports | Custom domain on Flicknexs, Widevine and FairPlay via the DRM add-on, analytics from day one | Your domain authority and your historical numbers |

What to have ready before the first call
Migrations stall on missing access, not on missing video. Gather these eight items before the audit call and the first week is the export, not the chase.
Confirm whether you are on Muvi One or Muvi One Classic
Your original master files, gathered independently of the CMS
A metadata export in Muvi's own import/export vocabulary
Both end-user exports, taken as late as possible
API credentials, plus a realistic view of what Muvi's API covers
Admin access to your own payment gateway, not just to Muvi
Written proof of who owns each app store listing
A DRM inventory read out of your encoding profiles
The migration plan, step by step
Five steps, usually spread over one to two weeks. The Flicknexs team runs steps two to five with you; your side supplies exports and store credentials.
Five steps, usually spread over one to two weeks. The Flicknexs team runs steps 2 through 5 with you; your side supplies exports and store credentials.
Set the exit date from Muvi's renewal clock before you touch anything else
Drain the Muvi CMS of everything it will give you without a ticket
Rebuild the catalog on Flicknexs from masters, using the Muvi metadata rows as the map
Re-create plans, then keep billing continuous on the gateway you already own
Reinstate DRM, apps, and anything that was a separate Muvi product
Both streaming platforms run in parallel until your team tests and signs off on every device app.
A Muvi migration, week by week
Two weeks is the common case for a Muvi catalog of a few hundred titles and a few thousand subscribers. Larger libraries add days to the import, not to the plan.
clock and inventory
Onboarding team establishes which Muvi generation your account runs, since Muvi One's CMS asset download and Muvi One Classic's ticket-based process imply very different schedules; sizes the catalog, the plan ladder, the DRM-profile list and the app estate.
Find your renewal date and count back to the 30-day mark Muvi's Terms of Service §11.1 requires for written non-renewal notice. Assemble access: Muvi CMS admin, your payment gateway admin, and your Apple and Google developer consoles.
export from Muvi
Receives and validates your metadata export, maps Muvi's mandatory columns to the Flicknexs catalog schema, and flags fields with no direct equivalent for manual handling before import.
Run the CMS metadata, reports and user exports, plus the separate "Export Update History" download Muvi documents on its Managing End Users page. If you are on Muvi One Classic, raise the media download support ticket now — Muvi's own page calls it a manual, on-request process. Locate your masters in parallel.
rebuild on Flicknexs
Runs bulk import of video and metadata from your original source files, rebuilds categories, plans and DRM profiles across Widevine, FairPlay and PlayReady, and prepares white-label builds for Android, iOS, Android TV, Fire TV, Roku, Samsung and LG.
Review the staged catalog, supply artwork and any metadata Muvi held only in its UI, connect your payment gateway, and start the Apple and Google account work for any app that had been shipping under Muvi's Developer ID.
parallel run and sign-off
Stages the full environment for validation: subscriber import dry run with plan mapping, secure-link login tests, DRM playback across browsers and devices, live and playout channel checks, and a written reconciliation report against your Muvi exports.
Work the test checklist with your own team, confirm counts and plan mappings, agree the exact stop/start sequence with your gateway admin — and do not cancel Muvi yet. Your Muvi subscription stays live through this week deliberately.
Cutover, then hold the archive
Switches domains and app endpoints, monitors the first renewal cycle in your gateway for duplicate or missed charges, and watches playback and login error rates through the first week.
Only after sign-off, cancel in Muvi via "Profile"-->"Billing", the "Subscription Details" tab, the "3 Dots", then "Cancel" as Muvi documents. Keep every export archived offline first: Muvi's cancellation article states that "all your data including videos and metadata will be deleted after 14 days of cancellation", and its Terms of Service §11.4 gives Muvi ten (10) days after termination to destroy its copies.
Muvi-specific things to check first
- List every Muvi product you pay for separately; Flicknexs covers on-demand, live and playout on one plan, so the comparison is against the total.
- Playout schedules are rebuilt in Flicknexs Playout; export the program grid before your Muvi Playout term ends.
- According to our pricing page, per-app fees on Muvi map to included apps on F2 and F3 or to modular app add-ons; check our pricing page for current plan and pricing details to see which apps you actually need.
- If Muvi published your apps from its accounts, plan for new listings under yours.
The five ways a migration goes wrong, and how each is prevented
Cancelling before the archive is verified — the 14-day deletion rule
Muvi's cancellation help article is explicit: "once you cancel your subscription, all your data including videos and metadata will be deleted after 14 days of cancellation. Hence, please make sure to export all your data before cancelling your subscription." Muvi's Terms of Service §11.4 adds that "within ten (10) days after the effective date of termination, Muvi shall discontinue all use of the Content you originated on the Muvi Service and may destroy all copies of the same in our possession." Cancelling early to save one month is the single most expensive mistake available on this migration, and it is easy to make because cancellation is self-serve — Muvi documents it as "Profile"-->"Billing" in the Dashboard, the "Subscription Details" tab, the "3 Dots" beside the plan, then "Cancel".
Serialized media export quietly becomes the critical path
Plans slip here more than anywhere else, because the catalog looks like a database problem and behaves like a queue. Muvi's asset library page states "You can only download a single video/audio/image/file at a time", and on Muvi One Classic there is no self-serve path at all — Muvi's help page says "Currently, we only provide this facility on request and this is a manual process" and requires a support ticket. Teams that size the migration on transcode hours, then start downloading, discover the shape of the work in week three. The mitigation is structural, not heroic: source from your own masters and treat anything pulled from Muvi as backfill for titles whose masters are genuinely lost.
App store listings that were never in your developer account
An OTT brand's install base and review history live in a store listing, and a listing can only move if it was yours. Muvi documents that for Android it publishes "either by using our Developers ID or by using your Developers ID", and for iOS that "Muvi can use its own Apple Account to publish your iOS application in the Test Flight mode, however, you need to have your own Apple Developer Account to publish your iOS application to the iTunes App store (live)." If an Android build went out under Muvi's Developers ID, a replacement app is a new listing starting from zero ratings and zero installed base, with your existing users needing a prompt to move. Check this in week one; it is the longest-lead item after the catalog, and per Muvi's Muvi One pricing page apps are billed separately at "$299 /app/month" on Standard and "$499 /app/month" on Professional and Enterprise, so it is also worth confirming which apps are actually still live before you plan around them.
Subscriber records arrive without any credential
The documented Muvi export gives you "'User', 'Email', 'Type', 'Plan'" in Excel, and Muvi's API capabilities as documented cover "add/Manage Subscribers, Manage User Authentications" rather than any credential dump — so nobody's password crosses over. Handled badly, that turns into a mass password-reset email to your entire paying base at the exact moment your product changes, which is where migrations lose subscribers who were never going to churn. Flicknexs imports the list with plan mapping and brings users back in over secure-link login, so the first post-migration visit is a click rather than a reset flow.
Overlapping billing against the same gateway account
The gateway independence that makes leaving Muvi clean also makes double-billing possible: Muvi states "The payment gateways are linked directly to your bank account", so the live mandates keep running in your account regardless of which platform your catalog is on. If Flicknexs plans go live against that same gateway before Muvi's renewal schedules are stopped, a subscriber can be charged twice in one cycle — and on the platform side Muvi's Terms of Service section titled "No Refunds" states fees already paid are "non-cancelable and non-refundable", so an overlap month is a real cost, not a credit. Write the stop/start order down, with named owners on both the gateway and the platform side, before cutover week.
The cut-over checklist Flicknexs signs before DNS moves
We check every item on the parallel sub-domain with your real content and a real payment. Both sides sign the checklist before DNS moves.
- Row-count reconciliation: total published titles on Flicknexs against the row count of the metadata export Muvi's feature page describes as exportable "at the click of a button using the CMS itself", with the difference explained title by title rather than accepted as rounding.
- Mandatory-field parity: for a sample across genres, confirm the four columns Muvi's bulk import article marks Mandatory — "Content Name", "Content Types", "Metadata Type" and "Content Category" — landed in the correct Flicknexs fields, and that category names still drive browse and search the way they did in the Muvi storefront.
- Master-not-derivative check: spot-check resolution, bitrate and audio track count on imported titles to confirm they were built from your originals, not from the .mp4/.mp3 outputs Muvi's Classic help page describes as the product of its encoding process.
- Subscriber count and plan mapping against the Muvi Excel export, field by field: every row's 'User', 'Email', 'Type' and 'Plan' values resolve to an active Flicknexs account on the equivalent plan, with unmatched rows listed individually.
- Late-change sweep: re-read the "Export Update History" file Muvi documents on the same page and confirm any plan upgrade, downgrade or cancellation made after your main export was applied before go-live.
- Secure-link login tested end to end with a real subscriber account on mobile and desktop, since no password came out of Muvi and this is the path every existing user will take on their first visit.
- Billing continuity in your own gateway: confirm the next renewal for a live test subscriber charges exactly once, on the expected date and amount, and that no parallel Muvi-side schedule fired for the same customer — Muvi's payment gateway page confirms these mandates sit in your connected account, so the evidence is in your gateway dashboard, not in a platform report.
- DRM playback across all three systems Muvi One names — "Google Widevine, Apple FairPlay, and Microsoft PlayReady" — tested on Chrome/Android, Safari/iOS and Edge respectively, with a protected title, and an explicit check that titles which were unprotected on Muvi did not silently become protected or vice versa.
- Encrypted delivery sanity check: confirm protected titles serve as segmented MPEG-DASH or HLS, matching the shape Muvi describes where "the video is in an encrypted format (i.e. MPEG-DASH or HLS [.m3u8]) and available in parts", and that a direct request for a media segment without a licence fails.
- Old surface retirement: every embed placed from Muvi — its API documents the ability to "get embed codes for the video/Audio player to display under your apps" — is inventoried and either repointed at Flicknexs or removed, so no page on your site keeps playing from the platform you are leaving.
- App store state verified per platform: the live listing is served from your Apple and Google accounts, a signed build installs and plays DRM content on a real device, and TestFlight-only builds published under Muvi's Apple account are accounted for rather than assumed migrated.
- Live and linear, if you ran them: channels, EPG and HLS feeds tested on Flicknexs cloud playout, remembering these were separate Muvi products — Muvi Playout for "Linear TV & FAST Channels" and Muvi Live with its own pricing page — so they carry their own configuration and possibly their own renewal date to cancel.
What you pay after the move, with a worked example
A worked monthly cost for a Muvi service of 1,500 subscribers
Take a Muvi service with 1,500 paying subscribers, a web platform, Android and iOS apps, and one Roku app. According to our pricing page, that service sits on the F2 plan covering web plus Android and iOS, with the Roku app configured as an add-on, with flat platform pricing and no commission on subscriber revenue. See our pricing page for current plan and pricing details.
Muvi publishes its One plan prices and per-app fees on its pricing page; add every Muvi product you pay for separately, including Live and Playout, when building the comparison.
Subscription revenue is untouched on Flicknexs because plans are flat fees with no commission, according to our pricing page, so the comparison is between one fixed monthly platform cost and whatever your current bill scales with.
Who does what
A migration fails when a task has no owner. This is the split Flicknexs uses on every Muvi move.
| Task | Owner | Why that owner |
|---|---|---|
| Export from Muvi | You | It is your account and your data. Flicknexs never logs in to a competitor platform. |
| Metadata mapping and bulk import | Flicknexs | The import toolkit and the content model are ours to operate. |
| Recreate tiers and connect gateway | Flicknexs, with your keys | Prices and renewal logic are configured by us; the gateway account is yours. |
| Subscriber import and login emails | Flicknexs | Plan mapping and secure-link flow are platform functions. |
| Brand assets and store listings | You | Logo, screenshots and listing copy carry your identity. |
| App builds and store submission | Flicknexs, from your accounts | We build and submit; you own the listing. |
| Cut-over checklist sign-off | Both | A named person on each side signs before DNS moves. |
| DNS change and subscriber announcement | You | Domain control and customer communication stay with the brand. |

What changes for your viewers, and what does not
For a viewer, the move from Muvi to Flicknexs shows up as one email asking them to set a new password by secure link, and then the same catalog under the same brand at the same address. Their plan, price and renewal date are unchanged. Their watch history starts fresh unless Muvi exports it, in which case continue-watching positions are imported for the titles that exist on both sides.
Apps update through the stores as normal updates, so the icon on the home screen stays where it was. Live channels keep their line-up. Rentals bought before the move remain watchable for the period you set at import.
What the admin tells you in the first month
- Login rate on the secure-link email, so you can resend to anyone who did not complete it
- Plays and watch time by title and by device, compared with the last export you took
- Revenue by tier and by gateway, with failed renewals listed for follow-up
- Channel viewing for linear playout, if you run one
- Redirect hits on old title URLs, which fall as search engines pick up the new pages

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about migration from Muvi on Flicknexs.
One to two weeks for most catalogs. Very large libraries or many subscription tiers can take longer; the Flicknexs team scopes the timeline after the audit in step one.
No. Accounts are imported with their entitlements. Subscribers receive a secure link to set a new password on first login, because passwords are never exported in readable form.
Guided migration is part of onboarding. Large catalogs use the bulk import toolkit, which our pricing page lists as a monthly module you can switch off once the import is complete. See our pricing page for current plan and pricing details.
Yes. New app builds are submitted as updates from your own developer accounts, so listings, ratings and install base carry over. Both platforms run in parallel until you cut over.
No. All plans are flat monthly fees with no commission on subscriptions, rentals or advertising.
Web-only services start on the web platform plan, mobile-app services on F2, and services with TV apps on F3 or F4, according to our pricing page. The migration team confirms the fit during the audit. See our pricing page for current plan and pricing details.
Muvi One publishes plan pricing with additional apps billed per app per month, according to its pricing page, checked 2026-09-03; Muvi Live, Flex and Playout are priced separately.
That depends on your contract with Muvi. Check the notice period and renewal date before the audit call so the cut-over lands before the next billing cycle. Flicknexs does not contact the vendor on your behalf.
They keep receiving the secure link for as long as you choose to resend it, and their entitlement waits for them. The admin shows who has and has not completed login so you can follow up.
Yes. Flicknexs serves your existing domain, and public title pages are redirected one-to-one to the new pages, so search rankings and shared links are preserved rather than dropped.
The plan does not change; the import does. Large libraries run through the bulk import toolkit in batches over more days, and the audit call sets the schedule before anything is exported.
Yes. On-demand libraries, live events, M3U8 linear channels and scheduled cloud playout run under one Flicknexs admin and one monthly plan.
